One of the chief goals of the centre is to provide scouts in Rustavi with facilities for their indoor and outdoor activities as well as a permanent office to deal with all administrative matters of the organization. The buildings are designed for this purpose. The centre is also available to other youth groups in Georgia, e.g. from the capital Tbilisi, and as a location for special events (training courses, seminars, planning weekends, etc.) In addition, the International Scout Centre Rustavi generates income by renting its facilities to third parties: The centre can be used by school and university groups as well as non-governmental organizations looking for a venue for residential study weeks and meeting. The centre offers overnight accommodations for tourists, groups and individuals.

Exploring Rustavi and Tbilisi

 Hello all!

Our new volunteer, Katrina, just arrived! Here are her first impretions:

" This week we had on arrival training online for 5 days. It was from 11:15 - 14:30 each day, but after this training, we had free time and we chose to explore Rustavi and Tbilisi.

In Rustavi, we did a hike to the cross hill. Our friend group met up in New Rustavi and then we did the hike. It was a hard hike because it was 29 degrees outside that day. Climbing up the hill in such heat was pretty hard and exhausting, but the view was worth it. The plan was to watch the sunset on top of the hill, but we were too late for that. The view was still amazing!

In Tbilisi, we went to Mtazminda, where the ferris wheel is. We went there when it was already dark outside so we had the chance to see Tbilisi in the dark. The view from the ferris wheel was stunning. "
