"Escape Radicalization" was an international Erasmus+ training course organized by Dansk ICYE and Youth Association Droni in Rustavi (Georgia) during the period 09-17 November, 2018, including 27 participants from 8 different countries (Georgia, Denmark, Estonia, Ukraine, Belarus, Belgium, Norway and Czechia).
The project was designed to deeply explore the topic of youth radicalization, discover new means for prevention and involve participants into creating an educational escape/quest rooms which will tackle the mentioned topic in an innovative way.
The aim of the project was to strengthen protective factors that prevent radicalization of young people through introduction and use of innovative educational concepts based on escape/quest games. For this, after discussions and inputs on youth radicalization and escape room creation, the group of participants was divided into three teams, which developed their own Escape Room with different stories and puzzles on the topic of bullying, violent radicalization and social exclusion. One of the results of this project was an open event where the local community had the chance to come to ISCR and try the three escape rooms for free. Other direct results of the project will be a set of three teasers of the rooms, as well as a escape room resource pack, which will include all materials and necessary guidelines so other youngsters, educators and/or youth workers can implement these escape rooms in their environments.
